Discovering Your Roots: JCGC and Genealogy
Part of our 2019 Lecture Series
On January 10, Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati (JCGC) and Rockdale Temple hosted a lecture on researching genealogy, the first in a quarterly series. Rick and Paul Cauthin, members of the board of the Hamilton County Genealogical Society, gave a general overview of genealogical research. Chelsea Simon, a graduate student at HUC-JIR, presented on how to utilize archives and other research methods. Kathy Reed, also of the Hamilton County Genealogical Society, discussed the advantages of genetic information when exploring genealogy. JCGC’s Jewish Foundation-HUC Fellow, Caroline Sim, moderated the lecture, including taking questions for the audience.
